829 Studios is a Boston-based digital agency and marketing consultancy. We’ve been at it since 8/29/2007 when co-founders Nick Riotto and Peter Ross turned down angel investment in their start-up to bootstrap the business on their own. Since then we’ve earned a solid reputation as an agency that provides great strategy, design and development work for a wide variety of clients.

We work with start-ups (like Sports Draft Daily), publicly traded companies (like Lionbridge Communications) and non-profit organizations (like the South Shore YMCA). We’ve also carved out a niche in the youth programming market, having worked with more than a dozen summer camps and teen tours.

Work with us and you can expect an unlimited supply of free snacks (and Red Bull), ping pong breaks and free lunch twice a week. We also take quarterly trips to cool places like the Sam Adams Brewery and water skiing in NH. 829 Studios is looking for an outstanding Senior Web Designer to conceptualize and design awe-inspiring websites and applications for a variety of our high-profile clients.

We’re looking for a designer who is creative yet analytical – successfully blurring the line between amazing visual aesthetics and accessible, easy-to-use interfaces. While this position does not require any programming or CSS/HTML knowledge, you’ll be working closely with our in-house team of developers, project managers and digital strategists to take your designs from concept to working product.

Job Type: Full Time

Location: Brookline, MA

Responsibilities

Work with 829 Studios’ clients and team members to design visually stunning websites, applications and digital marketing concepts.
Create and present project deliverables such as wireframes and mock-ups that demonstrate and sell recommended solutions to clients.
Collaborate with our programming team to ensure proper implementation of your designs.
Collaborate with our business development team and account managers to define the project scope and manage time across multiple projects.

Must Haves:

A strong digital design portfolio.
Comprehensive knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.
Experience in a creative or digital agency.
Exceptional time management skills.

We’d Love it If You Also Have:

A strong knowledge of Adobe Fireworks and its prototyping capabilities.
A working knowledge of CSS/HTML.

829 Studios is looking for an experienced Python/Django Web Developer who sees clean, modular code as a thing of beauty and enjoys getting to the simplest solution possible for a given problem.

You’ll be working closely with our team of designers, project managers and digital strategists to take websites and applications from concept to working product. With clients ranging from investment-backed start-ups to publically traded corporations, you’ll have the opportunity to create solutions for a variety of different projects across several different industries.

Must Haves:

You’re obsessed with organization of your code for double-plus re-use and maintenance.
You love making really clean code, and solving a problem in the cleanest way possible should make you giddy to your bones.
You’re comfortable working in a Linux environment.
You’re familiar with a version control system (we use Git).
You should be able to setup and configure Apache.
You’re familiar with an MVC web framework.
You must be able to provide running code that you’ve written for us to evaluate.

We’d Love It If You Also Have:

As a team, we like having a dedicated front-end Javascript/CSS person, so you don’t have to be uber-experienced with that, but you should at least be able to make changes in case they are overloaded.
Some PHP/WordPress experience, as we support many of those sites.

Evaluate and modify code for maximum efficiency.

Job Type: Full Time

Location: Brookline, MA – Coolidge Corner

Must Haves:

You’re obsessed with organization of your code for double-plus re-use and maintenance.
You love making really clean code, and solving a problem in the cleanest way possible should make you giddy to your bones.
Experience with HTML5 and CSS3.
You should be familiar with fluid/responsive layouts and feel comfortable making them.
You’re familiar with a version control system (we use Git).
You must be able to provide code that you’ve written for us to evaluate.

We’d Love It If You Also Have:

Deep knowledge of speed optimization techniques.
You’re comfortable working in a Linux environment.
You use a CSS preprocessor.
You’ve used a javascript framework before (like Ember.js)
You’re a full-stack kind of person.
Django templating experience.
